When a flower blooms it is at its fullest and most vibrant stage. It’s full of life, color, fragrance, and beauty. It’s a fragile and fleeting beauty that must be enjoyed in the moment before it begins to wither and fade. Watching a flower bloom is a reminder to live in the moment and to live life to its fullest. Blooming flowers bring hope, inspire, and remind us to allow ourselves to open fully and to bloom in our own lives.
This painting was inspired by a gorgeous Zinnia, which is one of my favorite summer garden flowers. It’s part of The Blooms Collection a series of flowers drawn and painted at their peak bloom. Each artwork captures the flowers’ color, life, and beauty that was so transient. All the artwork in the collection is archival quality allowing them to last for years to come thus honoring the flowers and all the beauty, life, and hope they provided to us.

These flowers look lovely displayed together and will bring a colorful summer vibe to your home. Flowers bring me joy, and I hope this collection will do the same for you or someone special. I love to visit botanical gardens, garden centers, or even my own gardens, and they all inspire my art.
These paintings were inspired by bright and sunny garden flowers. Flowers included are the Yellow Flag Iris, Pink Peony (‘Isn’t She Lovely’), Red Oriental Poppy, Red and white Columbine, Yellow Bearded Iris, and Pink and white Clematis.
